Our Services
Osteopathic treatment can help reduce the level of your pain and discomfort by easing muscle tension, relieving strain, improving circulation and increasing mobility. Many of our patients find significant relief within about 3 treatments. It is very much a ‘hands on’ form of therapy and distinguished by the high palpatory skill required to assess and treat.
What is Osteopathy
Osteopathy is an established system of manual therapy recognized by the British Medical Association. Osteopaths use many of the diagnostic procedures used in conventional medical assessment and diagnosis. They are experts in detecting and treating problems with the musculoskeletal system, such as tense muscles, strained ligaments, trapped nerves and stiff joints. These problems are often related to poor posture, stress, the workplace, sports injuries and ‘wear and tear’ related to ‘old’ age.
Problems Treated
Include the following conditions hip and knee pain, arthritic pain, back pain, neck pain, headaches arising from the neck, shoulder and elbow pain, muscle spasm, sciatica and sports injuries.
What to expect
At your first consultation, we will first take a detailed medical history and then examine the way your body moves to identify points of imbalance, weakness and strain. We will then discuss your findings with you and agree a treatment plan. Depending on your condition this may consist of one or more of the following:
Massage and stretching to promote muscle relaxation
Joint manipulation & moblisation to restore mobility
Clinical based exercise to build tissue resilience, develop strength and improve range of movement.
Nutritional & lifestyle advice to support healing and prevent reoccurrence
The Results
